THE SARCOPHAGUS Adds Members, Begins Work On New Album

August 4, 2010

Turkish black metallers SARCOPHAGUS have issued the following update:

"THE SARCOPHAGUS would like to announce that a new drummer (Oktay; ex-RAVENWOODS) and a second guitarist (Ömer; ex-PHRONESIS) joined THE SARCOPHAGUS horde two weeks ago and the band have started working for the upcoming album with five band members. Band is planning to record the new album at the end of 2010 autumn.

"The new album vocal will [feature] Niklas Kvarforth [of Swedish extreme metallers SHINING] again and the new work will be as killer as the old ones. Also there will be a MOTÖRHEAD cover — 'March or Die' — on the album."

SARCOPHAGUS released its latest album, "Towards The Eternal Chaos", in November via Osmose Productions. The CD was recorded at Midasin Kulakliklari studios and features "a more extreme and technical kind of classical black metal [with] minimized use of keyboards" and a special guest appearance by Kvarforth, according to a press release.

SARCOPHAGUS last year released a limited-edition seven-inch single, "Hate Cult", featuring two songs with Kvarforth. Only 500 copies of the single were produced.

SARCOPHAGUS was formed in the cold winter of 1996 by Nahemoth (drums) and Heimdall (vocals).
